Where is Savusavu?
The "Hidden Paradise" of Savusavu is located on the southeastern side of Vanua Levu, Fiji’s second largest island. Historically an agricultural community, the area has fewer tourists and small, boutique resorts.

How do I get to Savusavu?
From Nadi International Airport there are two commercial airlines, Air Fiji and Sun Air, which make trips twice daily to Savusavu Airport. There is also seaplane service (Pacific Island Seaplanes) from Nadi Airport.

The Lagilagi, a high speed ferry leaves from Nadi or Lautoka to Savusavu early on Saturday mornings.

There are also two passenger ferry companies which offer scheduled trips from Suva to Savusavu and also, less frequently, fromTaveuni or Koro to Savusavu.

Please contact us in advance for assistance in planning the best inter- island transportation.

SPECIAL OFFER
If you book direct and pre-pay with us for a trip of 7 days or more, we will cover the cost of your round trip inter-island transportation from Nadi or Suva to Savusavu on the regularly scheduled carriers.

If you book direct and prepay a 3 to 6 day trip we will arrange for you to pay the more favorable "local" rates.

Can we be picked up or dropped off at other locations in Fiji?
Yes, we can pick you up or drop you off almost anywhere in Fiji, be it an airport location, ferry wharf or another resort. In some cases a delivery fee will be charged for the service.

Can we bring our children?
Definitely. We welcome children on board SeaHawk. Our own three children grew up on board and sailed with us for seven years from the U.S. East Coast to Fiji. A family vacation on SeaHawk will delight you and your kids.

How far can we sail in a day? Will we see lots of Fiji?
That depends on you and the weather. We try to keep our longer sailing days down to less than 8 hours, generally in the 4 to 6 hour range, which gets us from one location to another. In the North, most destinations are less than 35 miles away and some are only 5 to 10 miles apart. Although Fiji is a small country, it is composed of over 300 islands scattered over almost 800,000 square miles of Pacific Ocean. There is a limit to how many places can be comfortably visited on a 7-day trip, however, longer trips will allow us to take to you to more areas.

Can you arrange dive trips?
Yes, in fact, we offer "Sail to Dive" trips that allow our guests to dive with several different operators around Fiji. You will be able to get to a variety of Fiji’s most prized sites in one trip. Your hotel travels with you, no need to move from one resort to another. We take care of getting you there in comfort and arranging dive excursions with the operators.

What other activities do you offer?
In addition to sailing days, we offer snorkeling, swimming, fishing, shore side trips to visit villages, hikes to waterfalls, beach walks to collect shells, and much more. Some excursions will incur a cost, most will not. Kayaking and dive excursions will cost extra and are paid to the operator. On board SeaHawk we have books, games and a collection of tapes and cd’s. No phone, no email, no TV or video to interfere with your enjoyment of the sun, the sea and the stars. We tend to start the day early and after a full day, most guests are ready to be rocked to sleep. However, if you have the desire for a little nightlife, we can arrange a stop at many of Fiji’s resorts where you can have dinner, drinks and take part in the evening entertainment.

What should we bring with us?
Bring the books you always wanted to read, but didn’t have the time for. Bring shorts, t-shirts, bathing suits, sunblock, sunglasses and a hat. A sulu (pareo) and a shirt that covers the upper arm is required for women when visiting a village. Men can usually wear shorts to the village, but should have a sleeved shirt (no singlets). Long pants for men are required for church. If you wish to have dinner at a resort we advise women to bring a sundress, men can wear shorts and a bula shirt. Life in Fiji tends to be pretty casual and life on SeaHawk is even more relaxed.

Do Not Bring your golf clubs, electric appliances or hard luggage. Leave your worries behind, too. Just come with us and kick back on our barefoot cruises.

What about bad weather?
In the unlikely event the weather prevents departure or continuation of a trip, every effort will be made to accommodate you onboard or make arrangements with a local hotel. We recommend that you obtain trip insurance. (Ask your travel agent how to get it.)
